Castings are an essential part of film and photo productions. They enable producers and directors to choose the right actors and models for their projects. Especially in the advertising and fashion industry, castings are indispensable because specific requirements are often placed on the appearance and abilities of the performers.
During a casting, actors or models have the opportunity to present themselves and showcase their skills and appearance. Often they are asked to improvise certain scenes or poses or to execute predetermined scripts or movement sequences.
Casting directors and agents observe the candidates and make a selection based on their impressions.
Particularly in the fashion industry, „go-sees“ or „go-and-sees“ are crucial. These are appointments where models go to a casting or audition to demonstrate their suitability for a job. These auditions can be organized by model agencies or directly by clients. Here, models have the chance to introduce themselves personally and showcase their personality, body language, and styling.
In the advertising industry, castings can be decisive in finding the perfect face or voice for a campaign. The right casting can have a significant impact on the effectiveness of an advertisement and often determines whether it is successful or not.
